Things to Make You Smile

Verse of the Day

I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will guide you with my eye. Psalms 32:8

Devotional: Prayer

Prayer is a very important in the Christian walk. Paul tells us in his first epistle to Timothy, “I desire therefore that the men pray everywhere, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting,” (1 Timothy 2:8). Prayer connects us with God when nothing else can. I have heard this act described as a telephone for us to talk to God. All we have to do is pick up the phone of prayer and tell God everything. If a Christian has problems, then he/she can ask for God’s help. If God answers a prayer we can thank Him for His many blessings. God is always listening and He desires for us to pray to Him everywhere and at all times. All you have to do is pick up the phone.

“A merry heart makes a cheerful countenance, but by sorrow of the heart the spirit is broken,” (Proverbs 15:13). How often do you smile every day? Let me ask another question, how often do you count your blessings? King Solomon gives us some very wise words. He tells us that if our heart is happy, then we will smile and look happy. Seeing how much God has blessed you will help you have a merry heart, which in turn helps you to smile. Whenever life brings you down count your blessings and your spirit will be uplifted.
