His Plan

‘For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope,’ Jeremiah 29:11

God spoke these words through the prophet Jeremiah thousands of years ago, but they are still relevant. They were for the Israeli people of that day who were going through a sinful time, though they are for all who follow the Lord. God wanted to let his people, and us, know that His plans for us are good as long as we adhere to them. God has something wonderful planned for all His children.

Some Christians might say that this verse is only relevant for the Israelites and does not apply to Christians. That is so wrong! The entire Bible, minus the sacrifices required of Israel, are relevant to us too. God loves us, knows our future, and wants us to have the best life possible. That does not mean He is going to give us all our wants, but that does mean that He cares about us. God wants all His children to have ‘a future and a hope.’

God wants us to know that as long as we follow Him, He has great plans for us. They may not be for you to be famous or rich, but they are for you to show Jesus everywhere. God wants all that we do to glorify Him. As long as our plans glorify God and are straight from the Big Man Himself, we are on the way to some sort of greatness. Just remember that the greatness might not be what you want, but the greatness will be what God knows is best for you.

God always has something wonderful planned for his children. No matter what happens God will work everything out for good. Romans 8:28 says, ‘And we know that all things work together for the good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.’ You may not realize at the time, but God has a plan and a purpose for your life and the curses now will be blessings later or already are. God loves you and He will always have thoughts of peace for you, even if you cannot see that now.

God has something great in store for you. You may be going through hard times now, but God is making sure that everything will work out. He is taking care of you, loves you, and wants you to succeed in life. Follow God’s plans for your life and nothing will be out of your reach.
